Dawn Wells

Winemaker, Drop of Sunshine | Treasury Americas

Dawn Wells' journey into winemaking began with a spark during a high school tour of University of California, Davis. The mention of an underground wine cellar ignited her passion, inspiring her to dive into the world of enology enthusiastically.

After earning her BS in Enology from California State University, Fresno, in 2005, Dawn joined Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) in 2006 as a lab technician at Beringer Vineyards. Her dedication and talent propelled her through the ranks. She became an Enologist later that same year, an Assistant Winemaker for Beringer California Collection in 2012, and eventually, a Winemaker for Treasury Wine Estates’ commercial brands in 2017.

In 2021, Dawn embraced a new adventure by relocating from Lodi to Paso Robles, California. There, she took the helm as winemaker for an array of vibrant brands, including Cali Rose, Cali Blanc, Cali Gold, Sterling Brut, Beringer Brothers, and several new product development labels like Squealing Pig, Drop of Sunshine, and Cali Styles.

For Dawn, blending wines is where the magic happens. She describes it as an art form, transforming individual wines into harmonious masterpieces that delight the senses.

With nearly two decades at TWE, Dawn's passion and expertise shine through in every bottle of Drop of Sunshine, bringing joy and connection to wine lovers everywhere.
